How about a top ten? continued

#6 A City Dressed in Dynamite
A City Dressed in Dynamite is amazing. infact That handsome devil are an amazing band that are so vared with thier music its hard to put just one genre in them many have tried and many more have failed. the best i have heard is gypsy jazz but that doesnt tough on the hip hop, rock, indie, electro and spoken word elements of thier music. there is no other band out thier like these guys and for that i tip my hat to them. for you see in this day and age its hard to find individuality, and i beleve i have found the most unique band. all i can do is erge you to listen to this album or even just thier EP's. you wont be sorry.

#7 Californication
The red hot chili peppers are one of those bands that everyone has liked a song of theirs at one point. and though i go through phases of liking RHCP i do always enjoy listening to this album, from the powerful first note to the gentle playing of John Frusciante's guitar that sounds so sweet it brings a tear to my eye. there isn't much else to say except if you have only heard one RHCP's songs and you want to get an album of theirs definitely get this one.

#8 De-Loused in the Comatorium

The Mars Volta are a new band i stumbled across late one night all i heard was the first song of this album and i was in love. its interesting, amazing and amuzing. i have know idea how they come up with half the stuff they do. i will say this though, it is an aquired taste. i have tryed to show this band to others and its like marmite you eather love it or hate it. De-Loused in the Comatorium is really hard to explane, its samba/prog/rock/alternative/awesome/latin/jazz. thats the closest i can get to describing it but i erge you to listen to it all the way through. The Mars Volta arnt one of those bands where you like one or two songs you love albums. and i love this album the most. please do listen to it.

Fun Fact: it features Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers

How about a top ten? Part 2

#9 Systematic Chaos
This album i bought on a whim, and i am so glad i did. It changed the way i think about music. Dream theater are a gateway band, if you like metal you start listing to prog. If you listen to prog you start getting into metal. Its win win! i started with metal, well i started with rock then it evolved from their, so i went into prog. Before this album i didn't really have any patience for songs they had to be 5 minuets or under but now i listen to 40 minuet songs and some even longer. I couldn't listen to bands such as Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull and Yes but now i cant stop. It also re sparked my love of drumming with Mike Portnoy's hard hitting, confusing and genius rhythms. The man is amazing just to listen to, hell this band makes me cream! Brilliant album, and in my opinion the best they have done, though Octavarium comes very close.

How about a top ten?

Now this is a bastard of a thing to.. a top ten list of favorite albums, i was going to do songs but that would have been to hard. So here it goes, this is only a temporary list because it is constantly changing, a year ago this would have all been led zeppelin. so here it goes.
.
#10 How To Be A Megastar Live
first on the list, well actually 10th, is a live album. i was kinda reluctont to put this on here but is so good that i cant not put it on. How To Be A Megastar Live is THE best live album on my itunes. i dont normally listen to live albums but for this i have made an exeption because they have captured the atmosphere of a unique live show. and thats the best way to describe them, unique. thier use of pipes and drums make something that sounds primitive yet futureistic its mind boggoling. if you have not seen blue man group you need to!

The first step

Inspired by an old friend of mine Liam Booth (http://aplaceamongthestars.blogspot.com) i thaught i might start my own blog. i can garentee that it will be full of spelling mistakes and grammer no nos' but im shure that someone out in the universe will forgive me.

what to write about was the first thing to come to mind, i had a idea that i would just write down the first thing to come to mind. then i thaught i would write the rambleings of luke (friend and same minded bieng) and i but then i looked at Booths blog and i thaught...
A music blog!?

everytime i get a new album i will right down my thaughts and all i can hope is that someone would read it.

that is all for now.

how many time did i say i ? ? ?
